Holy Church of the Entrance of the Theotokos, Pagoneri

Iconic temple in the settlement of Pagoneri. It has a three-aisled, wooden-roofed basilica with a gyneconite and general dimensions of 19.30X12.50m. According to a newer inscription placed above the southern entrance in the place of the old one, according to the testimonies of residents, it was built in 1835. On the western side we observe large-scale alterations. The tower-shaped belfry, made of carved granite, well worked by the experienced hands of a local craftsman, dates with an inscription to 1881.

An important element is the preserved gate of the original stone precinct of the church.

The ceilings, the Pantokrator in the central nave in an eight-leaf hymn, the despoticum and the pulpit stand out from the interior decoration.
