Lisse Fortress

Lisse Fortress

The village of Ochyros and the surrounding mountains are known for the famous line of fortifications of the Second World War and the heroic resistance of the few Greek soldiers against the German forces in April 1941. On the hill near the community of Ochyros, the impregnable Lisse fortress can be visited , with its labyrinthine underground arcades and cannons, and the small museum. In addition, it is possible through group scheduled visits to the Lisse Museum/Park to participate in the simulation of the Battle of the Forts through the “follow the fox” game.
