Post – Byzantine Church of Agios Dimitrios, Kato Nevrokopi

The church is a large basilica (30X21m) with a nave and a transversal aisle, on the floor of which there are the chapels of the Three Hierarchs and the Dormition of the Virgin. Three pairs of columns support the twelve-sided dome. Above the parapets and on three sides of the church is formed the gynekonitis. On the eastern side, in addition to the arch of the sanctuary, the smaller apses of the chapels on either side of the sanctuary protrude. The external masonry is grouted. On the south side, the year of its construction is written on a stone: 1866.
The icons of the iconostasis bear the date 1874. One of them is signed by the well-known painter of the time, George from Nevrokopi. In the center of the western face stands the belfry on three floors. On the north side of the enclosure, the old school, built according to an inscription in 1863, is preserved in excellent condition.
